The New England College Athletics Department announced that Geoff Hassard is the new Assistant Athletic Director, according to a social media post on Oct. 2. Hassard has worked in Division III athletics for 30 years.

He previously served as the Communication Director at SUNY Oneonta for 23 years. Hassard oversaw and kept track of athlete statistics.

“I always thought I would be on television or on stage somewhere but certainly have no regret about getting into college athletics,” Hassard said.

After leaving upstate New York, he planned to retire in New England until he realized he still had more to give to college athletics.

When asked about the changes he would want to implement at NEC, he said there is room for improvement at the facilities.

Hassard is excited to be part of the NEC community and looks forward to supporting and cheering on all the sports teams. He is looking forward to meeting new athletes and students around campus.
