The women’s soccer team picked up their first win on the road against Simmons University on Tuesday night.

It was a 0-0 game until the 75th minute when NEC’s Shelby McBain scored a goal right over Simmons goalie.

“It felt great, I haven’t played in a year, so it was an amazing feeling,” said McBain, who was recovering from an ACL tear all of last season.

The Pilgrims defense was all over the field keeping pressure on Simmons the whole game, with NEC goalkeeper Steph Bronowicki who tallied seven saves.

The ‘Grims travel to Emmanuel College on September 30 for a conference game.
