In her senior year, there is one thing that Emily Gagne has been very excited about, and that is Softball season.
“We have a lot of talent on the team this year, so I think we have a really good shot of winning the championship which is really exciting,” Gagne said.
“I’m always excited to play Eastern Nazarene because they’re one of our rivals and Lesley is also another rival of ours, so I’m excited to play them because I think it will be probably an even matchup this year.”
Gagne plays catcher, outfielder, and second base.  She has been on the team for the past 3 years.
“It’s kind of bittersweet, I mean I’m like kind of sad it’s like my last year, but I’m excited it’s probably going to end on a good note.”
Last year, the softball team had 14 players, this year the website lists 22 active players.
“It’s definitely a big difference.  We had a really small team last year, so if someone got injured it was really hard to find someone that could fill the position.
Gagne said the larger roster will help if injuries arise.
The season begins in Florida at the beginning of March. They play their first home game on March 31, with a doubleheader against UMaine of Farmington at 2 p.m.
