Henniker Police are investigating an alleged road rage incident involving a firearm that occurred Tuesday night at around 7 p.m., according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

The victim told police he was driving when a white pick-up truck passed him, firing a shot that broke both rear windows. The vehicle is described as a smaller Ford Ranger-style truck.

The incident occurred on Route 202/9 and continued onto Old Concord Road near Old West Hopkinton Road.

In an interview with the NewEnglander, NEC first-year student, Jack Goen, said he and a friend were pulled over because his vehicle matched the description of the suspected vehicle.

He and a friend were driving just after midnight when they started to be followed by an officer. The officer followed them for a short distance and shortly after he was pulled over by a different officer.

“I was just kind of stressed out,” Goen said. “Whenever anyone gets pulled over, it’s not their favorite thing. But they were, the cops, both cops were pretty cool.”

Goen asked the cops about what was going on and they told him about an ongoing investigation.

“He ended up saying it was a road rage incident, like drive by shooting, which caught me way off guard.”

Goen said the cops asked him questions about we had been doing at the time of the incident.

“They checked my information and then sent me on my way,” he said.
