Makenzie Anderson was named the NEC’s September female Pilgrim of the Month.
Anderson, a junior goalkeeper on the field hockey team, started in every game throughout the month of September including four shutouts and seven wins. In September, Anderson held a .79 goals-against average and an .867 save percentage. Anderson was also named GNAC Goalkeeper of the week for Sept. 9-15.
“It was kind of a surprise, but it felt good to get it, because I’ve never gotten that before,” Anderson said.
This is Anderson’s second season being the starting goalie.
“I’m more confident in my skills and defense and so I’m not as worried.”
The field hockey team continued their successful season as has Anderson. The team holds a 14-3 record and Anderson leads the GNAC with a .831 save percentage.
“I like winning, and I think we’re doing really good, so it’s always fun to go to the games,” Anderson said.
