The NEC football program will be joining the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) as an associate member starting in the 2024-25 academic year, according to press release from Commissioner Patrick Colbert.
“We are thrilled to be joining the Commonwealth Coast Conference as an associate member in football,” said Dave DeCew, NEC Athletic Director.
“Partnering with a tradition-rich campus like New England College is an exciting opportunity for fans, members and, most importantly, student-athletes as we continue to build our football brand and strategically position ourselves within the football landscape. The addition of an eighth institution allows our Conference to create a competitive and robust Conference schedule which also allows our football programs the opportunity to strategically schedule quality non-conference opponents,” Commissioner Colbert also said in the release.
NEC’s football team will play a condensed season in the fall of 2024 and then will have a full season in the fall of 2025.
