New England College’s Baseball team will compete in the first game of the season on Saturday, February 25. With the departure of eight seniors and graduate students, starting spots are open for the taking, creating a competitive environment that many on the team feel will spark success.
Junior Pitcher Stephen Dunham said he is hopeful that this will be a strong season.
“I think this team has a really good shot at accomplishing something really cool which is being the last NECC Champions ever, with us moving to the GNAC next season,” Dunham said.
“I think the confidence with this team is high. We have high expectations for ourselves both individually and as a team. Obviously, we lost some key players from last year but we’re confident our younger guys can step in and produce just as well as their predecessors,” he said.
The Pilgrims will start the season when they travel to Anna Maria College in Worcester, Mass.
