My name is Lace Mobley and I will be graduating from college next month, which is truly a blessing to even say! To get the full impact of my emotions, you have to understand that I have been trying to earn this elusive degree for over 30 years.  I have battled personal demons, medical challenges, self-doubt, depression, unemployment, and countless financial obstacles that could have easily been used as an excuse for not succeeding, but still I rise!
I looked at, applied to, and been accepted into several bigger and more well-known institutions, but have found my experience as a New England College Pilgrim to be both rewarding and enlightening. As a 53 year old married father of 3 twenty-somethings, I have found my career options far more numerous and appealing due in major part to the instructors, staff, and faculty at NEC. One of the most unexpected but worthwhile benefits I’ve received as a Pilgrim was the unwavering support and consideration given to me as an online student. Life has a way of getting in the way of our best laid plans and when my focus and commitment became cloudy due to life experiences, I could always count on an encouraging word and compassionate concern from the staff and faculty of MY SCHOOL New England College and I owe them a great deal of thanks.
The best way I can show my appreciation for this life-changing education is to pay it forward, and I have re-dedicated my passion to help others improve their quality of life through education. In other words, I am going to pay it forward and I hope these few words inspire others to do the same. Thank you so much for everything and GO Pilgrims!
