Injustice 2 is a sequel to DC Injustice: Gods Among Us, released May 11, 2017, and it still follows the story of Metropolis’s own Superman. Kal-El, aka Klark Kent, aka Superman, is deeply enraged and morns the loss of Lois Lane, who is the love of Superman’s life, and his unborn child who was killed by the Joker during a Nuclear Bomb incident. Superman seeks revenge for the loss of his family and those who do not follow his example have to suffer the consequences. Superman is not the hero you remember. Superman is now above the law and restores order in what he thinks is right for the citizens of Metropolis.

In Injustice 2, Superman has formed a new alliance called the Regime, which consists of Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash, Green Lantern, Black Adam, and Shazam. In events that split up the Justice League, Batman stops Superman and the Regime, and Metropolis Sentences Superman to prison. Batman helps with the construction of building a prison cell just for Superman so that he cannot escape. The battle has just begun.

There is a new threat on the horizon called Brainiac, a powerful mind control creature from space. Brainiac seeks out Superman, vowing to destroy earth as a whole, along with his allies in a new villain faction called The Society. The Society consists of Gorilla Grodd, Bane, Scarecrow, Cat Woman, Cheetah, Black Adam, Dead Shot, and Harley Quinn. Batman must enlist the help of Superman to form an alliance once again to stop Brainiac and the Society.

Injustice 2 opens up endless possibilities for interactions leaving players with non-stop, graphic, violent, bloodshed, and action packed game play. Injustice 2 has enough content in store for gamers to play, as well as all new control types, fighting moves, faster reaction time, tutorials, and characters. You can customize each character’s attires providing an exclusive creation pack customizing arenas, clothing, and weaponry.

The story mode takes you on a journey that follows members of the Justice League still split apart into two separate groups of Superman’s Regime and Batman’s team, The New Justice League. Batman faces a new threat in the Society, and along with Superman, has to recruit new heroes to help him fend off the new villains.

There are new battle arena types and new move sets for the characters as well. The graphics and designs put into this game are amazing. Players can fight through killer alligators, dinosaurs, sharks, or Batman’s jet. It’s almost like an intense three dimensional roller coaster with fighting through every inch of the arena. For each character there is more than just one finishing maneuver. Rach character is upgraded with new abilities, weapons, and signature moves.

The game also includes different battle arenas for every character in the roster like Batman’s secret layer, or Superman’s prison cell. There are many different new combinations that you can use while battling your opponents. The flashing images and blood graphics are just as awesome. Injustice 2 offers a captivating multiplayer online mode, which has a multiverse simulation where players can battle other players across the world with different stipulations and goals for the winner of the match.

If you are lucky enough to pre-order the game you can have a free bonus, a character called Darkseid. There is also other downloadable content, which includes three different packs consisting of other characters. Characters include The Red Hood (Jason Todd), Black Manta, and Starfire. There are also guest characters from other games, including the Mortal Kombat series. In February of 2018, a new DLC pack released which included characters featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hell Boy.

Injustice 2 is perhaps one of the very best video games produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros Interactive. Injustice 2 takes you on a journey that does not disappoint. The game has a remarkable expansion of characters, action packed fighting, and great cinematic cut scenes. I recommend this game to players who are die-hard DC Comic fans,  and hardcore gamers that like a lot of variety in their fighting games. There is enough violence and supernatural abilities to entice everyone.

Injustice 2 is out now for PlayStation 4, X-box One, PC, and Mobile Devices.
